Green cars heavily well-liked by car of the year award voters

Various automobiles are being dubbed Vehicle of the year by various agencies, foundations and publications. There’s no real global consensus, or input from academia on what makes a true auto of the year. However, that shouldn’t get within the way of a good honor. Green vehicles seem to be topping most lists for Vehicle of the year.

Volt obtaining the recognition of vehicle of the year

The Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Motors Leaf are both green automobiles getting Auto of the year award attention as they are both anticipated. The Automobile of the year honor at the LA Auto Show was the Volt. This is what Wired reports. General Motors was excited to win this award. Chevy Volt Auto of the year honors were also given out by Motor Trend and Automobile magazines, which are prestigious in the industry. Part of the judging for the LA Auto Show had Carroll Shelby, performance guru and automotive legend. Jay Leno was on the judging panel also. The Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt, both green automobiles, differ in the Volt is a plug-in hybrid, and the Leaf is totally electric.

The Leaf gets the award for Auto of the year also

The Telegraph accounts that the 2011 European Auto of the year is the Nissan Leaf. The European Vehicle of the year is selected by a voting panel from numerous European automotive journals. From 23 countries, 58 judges showed up. If you don't count golf carts, the Nissan Leaf may be the first car manufactured on a major scale that is completely electric. In fact, on all American Auto of the year votes, it was second to the Chevy Volt with a very close loss. Both cars will show up to the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. The 2 cars are bound to show down then.

World honor the coming year

Right now the votes are being put together for which one is the World Car of the year. In spring or 2011, this will finally be announced. Though significant authorities are weighing in on the best cars of 2010, it seems the best auto of a year shouldn’t be picked until years later. The automobiles that get the award ought to be the makes and models that last a while.
