Jud Birza has become branded the Survivor winner for this season

Jud Birza has been branded the "Survivor" champion for this season. Jud "Fabio" Birza narrowly emerged the "Survivor: Nicaragua" champion in by a slim voting margin. The fall 2010 rush of popular reality/competition show "Survivor" has just concluded, and contestant Jud Birza was crowned the "Survivor: Nicaragua" winner. "Fabio" was Birza's nickname during the show. The show began getting to the end of the season leaving only three participants left. This included, reports People, Matthew "Sash" Lenahan, Chase Rice and "Fabio". Fabio won "Survivor" and $1 million by getting voted on by the jury 5 to 4. Jane Bright was the champion of $100,000 cash. This was due to the Sprint Fan Favorite award.

Brand new parts to the next year season

The spring 2011 season of "Survivor" will feature a brand new format for the show. "Survivor: Nicaragua" was filmed at San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua which is where the next year season will be filmed, reports Columbia Broadcasting System. It could be called "Survivor: Redemption" as well. Host Jeff Probst discussed it recently and revealed that when contestants are voted off the show in the "tribal council," they go to "Redemption Island," a remote location where they compete for a shot at getting back in the running.

About the champion

Soon, season 22 will air of "Survivor" in 2011. This will be the 11th year of the show being celebrated. In 2000, the 1st season aired. The 1st $1 million award was won by Richard Hatch. Hatch ended up never paying taxes on the reward. This got him put in prison.
