Portwood of Music Television fame might face felony charges

Amber Portwood, from the MTV reality show "Teen Mother," could face felony assault allegations. She presumably, although since it was filmed it’s not really alleged at all, assaulted Gary Shirley, the dad of her daughter and her former fiance. Prosecutors started investigating after Portwood presumably attacked Shirley on the show.

Felony on the record for Amber Portwood with charges

The MTV reality show "16 and Pregnant" had Amber Portwood in it at first. Some of the subjects (each episode focuses on one pregnant teenager), including Portwood, were recruited for the spin off series “Teen Mom,” which details the trials and tribulations of being a young mom. The father of Portwood's child was Gary Shirley. In 2008, Leah Shirley was born to them. At the time, Portwood and Shirley were engaged. Allegations of assault happened just a few months ago, reports CNN. Evidently Shirley had been recorded being hit by Portwood numerous times. The T V show showed the footage as part of it. Then the police decided they needed to step in. Currently, the Madison County District Attorney’s Office has filed for probable cause. She might be charged with felonies if the filing goes through.

History of violence

At least three incidents of domestic violence happened against Shirley involving Portwood. Their daughter watcher her assault him, reports USA Today. This had been in August 2009. Two incidents of violence were recorded by MTV, taking place in June and July 2010. September got her into trouble when the footage finally aired. After the episode aired in Oct, Shirley and Portwood both had to give the police statements. If she is convicted, a $10,000 fine and three years in prison might be her punishment.

Child with father at present

There are two charges of felony counts as the child saw the incidents while the child is now with her father. Hopefully the child won't don’t forget anything that happened. She is young enough that this is likely the case.

Captured - Drunken Nuclear weapons drivers

Transporting Nuclear weapons is significant business. Based on the Washington Post, however, some govt drivers did not read the memo. According to a United States Energy Department oversight report, sixteen incidents involving drunk government Nuclear weapons chauffeurs have been investigated. The chauffeurs in question didn’t operate their vehicles while intoxicated, according to govt accounts. The offending drivers were apprehended by police after displays of public drunkenness in resort bars between 2007 and 2009. Article source – Government collars drunken nuclear weapons transport drivers by Personal Money Store.

Intoxicated Nuclear weapons chauffeurs were on safeguarded missions

Drinking on a "secure transportation mission" is probably not the best idea. When nuclear weapons are involved, it’s an even worse idea. Reports show that various chauffeurs in question checked into various local hotels during long-range tasks. While drivers were at hotels, the automobiles and payloads were put in "safe harbor" locations. A DUI arrest is much worse than public intoxication which is what they were imprisoned for while drinking at hotel bars. The assignment could have ended very badly though making it much worse really.

There is no evidence that the drunk Nuclear weapons drivers were driving while intoxicated, based on the National Nuclear Security Administration. There was no release of radiation or fatal accident after more than 100 million miles of secure Nuclear weapons transportation, based on the NNSA Office of Secure Transportation.

Rules call for alcohol testing

Nuclear weapons transport chauffeurs are required to submit to alcohol screening at least once per year, also as when there is reasonable suspicion for further tests. Drivers are prohibited from consuming alcohol consumption within 10 hours of beginning scheduled work. Agents who show a blood alcohol count of 0.02 or more are sent home.

According to NNSA reports, the small number of alcohol-related occurrences that have been detected in the past have resulted in offending agents being removed from mission status immediately. Nuclear weapons transport is a big enough issue that a zero tolerance policy is needed. Edolphus Towns, the House Oversight and Govt Reform Committee Chairman, explained that there is a "potential vulnerability" within the system that needs to be fixed immediately.

Obtaining the flawless sweet potato casserole and pie dishes

The Thanksgiving table often includes quite a couple of basics. The sweet potato casserole vs. sweet potato pie recipe debate is one that has actually been wide-ranging. A good sweet potato course signifies finding the right mixture for pie or casserole. There is a difference between these two, and you have to keep that in mind.

Sweet potato recipes

A sweet potato course will sometimes use the term “yam” interchangeably. In fact, Grandma’s course book probably includes a course for “Thanksgiving yams.”. Sweet potatoes aren't yams though. They’re different. Sweet potatoes are the traditional southern tuber used in Thanksgiving recipes. If you buy yams, make sure you use them right since the United States is starting to have them increasingly more accessible. In Africa, you can discover a yam as a vegetable. It looks different and tastes different than sweet potatoes though.

Recipe for sweet potato casserole

A classic sweet potato casserole course typically mashes the sweet potatoes up with butter and brown sugar, then tops them with marshmallows. The casserole ends up becoming fairly sweet. A few like it for dessert above whatever else. You can try instead mixing 1 teaspoon kosher salt and ground pepper with one teaspoon ginger, ¼ cup butter and ¼ cup brown sugar with 1 pound peeled sweet potatoes. If you feel like the marshmallow crust is an absolute necessity, try sprinkling the marshmallows with just a little kosher salt before you put it in a 300 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Course for sweet potato pie

Sweet potato pies are really for dessert which makes them perfectly okay. By adding eggs to a sweet potato pie recipe, you give it the structural integrity it must be a true pie. Blend 1 1/2 pounds steamed, mashed sweet potatoes with 1 1/4 cups sour cream. Add 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon and nutmeg and 5 egg yolks. you are able to put 1 cup toasted pecans on top of it right after you put the filling into a 9-inch frozen pie shell. You are able to get your sweet potato pie after baking it at 350 for 1 hour.

Data on jobless claims doesn't compute for joblessness level

A reduction in United States of America jobless claims just a tease

Looking on the bright side of the U.S. employment situation requires some creative statistical interpretation. The number of individuals filing for joblessness rose last week. However, the number was lower than analysts forecasted. Job creation and jobless claims have been canceling each other out, which is the reason why the U.S. joblessness level, at 9.6 percent most of the year, shows no signs of going down.

The unemployment forever unchanging

The Labor Department accounts that jobless claims went up 2,000 to 439,000 last week. According to the Associated Press, in three of the last four weeks there have been less people filing for unemployment than there have been in two years; it has merely been at the highest 440,000 max. There was an average 4.2 percent decrease in the last month as the average number of jobless claims went lower 16,000 to a 443,000 a week average. It means that fewer people are getting fired and more are getting employed. This is what AP suggests. Jobless claims have to go under 425,000 a week in order for the unemployment level to change. This is exactly what economists explain.

The jobless situation

Jobless claims come in by the thousands every single week. The week ending November 6, however, had 48,000 individuals stop collecting unemployment. That doesn’t necessarily mean they were given employed. Within the last week of October, 121,000 individuals moved to the federal unemployment extension program after joblessness benefits expired. Meanwhile, up to 2 million individuals will lose advantages when the emergency extensions expire at the end of Nov. In the next few months, another 2 million will supposedly lose advantages. It’s unlikely a lame-duck congress can be able to pass another federal joblessness extension.

Figures neglect to provide clarity

Weekly firings are closely viewed by economists. Jobless claims used to be able to show if the economic climate was recovering or not. There is no longer a relationship during this economic recovery though, Bloomberg accounts. Oct was the fourth month of more than 100,000 jobs being created since corporations added 159,000 jobs. You will find a ton of companies hiring. Most are lying off individuals though. Forty-two states and U.S. territories reported rising jobless claims, while 11 reported a decline. Just keep in mind that the unemployment level is staying the same. It won’t change from the 9.6 percent.

Becoming skinny a kid concern, claims research

Based on Live Science, a recent Pepperdine University research indicates that females as young as 3 years old are already worried regarding watching their weight. Being slender is one thing in which girls are "emotionally invested," states the research, possibly even at toddler age. Child psychologists find the outcomes to be disturbing, as human body unhappiness concerns have been connected to the occurrence of eating disorders.

Everyone wants to be slender

Lead researcher Jennifer Harriger told Live Science that worrying about being thin has actually been linked in numerous other studies to both eating problems and depression. Harriger explains surely it is an issue with viewing those who are overweight in rude manners since bullying in ways like weight hazing can start up.

Human body appearance needs to be comprehended by females

The age of females included in the study was generally not old enough for the children to verbalize complex thoughts and feelings, so Harriger had to use innovative methods. In order to be aware of whether girls favored skinny types or unwanted fat types, the preschoolers responded to 3 figures identical in every way except human body size – skinny, average and fat. With each, the children were asked to associate six positive and six negative adjectives. "Mean, stupid, no friends, sloppy, ugly and loud" were all the selections for negative descriptors. "Nice, wise, friends, neat, cute and quiet" were all the good ones.

Those who were larger typically got 1.2 positive and 3.1 negative. On the additional hand, 2.7 optimistic and 1.2 negative were given to those who were thinner. When the girls were shown three of each human body type and had to circle the 3 they’d most like to play with and one they’d want as a best friend, the preschoolers chose skinny most often in both scenarios. The girls were given more scenarios. The results were nearly always the same though.

Commercials reinforce slender ideas

Harriger explained the connection between staying beautiful and skinny for The United States is something that is very ingrained. Commercial communications are pervasive, perhaps even for preschoolers. What would be more productive would be to stress health instead of becoming thin or excess fat. Parents limiting mainstream media exposure, modeling healthy eating habits, exercising and practicing good talk promotes healthier lifestyles.

Research suggests marriage might be nearly obsolete

Matrimony study hints at feasible obsolescence

There are many solutions to specify the concept of marriage. Yet regardless of whether it’s an emotional, economic or statutory arrangement, it might be nearly obsolete in America, implies the Pew Research Center. More United States kids than ever in recorded history are living in single-parent family members where that parent is divorced, separated or was never married in the first place, writes the Associated Press. Article source – Study suggests marriage may be nearly obsolete by Personal Money Store.

Issues concerning classification of family matrimony

The classification of the American family is pretty fluid right now too, while the importance of matrimony being in flux as shown in the Pew group research along with Time magazine. The sea change has reportedly prompted the Census Bureau to adopt broader definitions of what constitutes a family member, particularly where matters of poverty and unmarried couples are concerned.

Family does not necessarily mean marriage anymore. This is what Pew team explains. Dr. Andrew Cherlin, sociology and public policy professor at Johns Hopkins University, told the AP that "Now there are several methods to have a successful family life and more people accept them.”

The brand new American family, through the marriage numbers

The Pew marriage and family research shows that there are quite a few children in homes with single or two parent homes that have parents who are not married anymore or just not married at all. In fact, 29 percent of kids live this way. That’s five times the number of such family members in 1960. The large number is 39 percent; that’s the percentage of Pew respondents who said matrimony was becoming obsolete. That number was down in 1978. It was only 28 percent of Americans who felt this way. This correlates with the Pew findings as shown in the United States census data from Sept 2010. only 52 percent of adults over 18 were married.

The economic climate is so dismal

While most Americans seem to agree that a married couple constitutes a family, a whopping 80 percent of respondents also recognized a family members as "an unmarried, opposite-sex couple with children or a single parent," while 60 percent recognized same-sex couples with kids as families. The unmarried life is something economics has affected quite a bit. There were 13 percent more opposite-sex unmarried couples just compared to last year. Because of unemployment and advantages like health insurance becoming more accessible to all "alternative" families, marriage has gone down making long-term marriage commitments unlikely.

Food insecurity is ascending, states DOA research

American families are struggling to put food on the table as much as this past year, says the Department of Agriculture. What’s most troubling about recent trends in hunger in the United States, says the Department of Agriculture, is that food insecurity – at least one family member in a household not receiving enough food because of finances – is at its highest amount since the stat became a matter of public file back in 1995. Source of article – U.S. hunger report indicates high levels of food insecurity by Personal Money Store.

Insecurity regarding food is something fifteen % of United States of America homes face

In 2009, 14.7 % of American homes met the qualifications for food insecurity status. That means that 17.4 million households are under this status. Regarding 45 million people are in these households. One-third of those homes earned the dubious distinction of having "very low food security," claims the Department of Agriculture.

Economy making money tight making it tough to buy food

Each and every month, a household considered food insecure within the study would have a seven month period in which there were severe food problems a few days each and every month. Those households run by single parents were substantially more likely to experience food security troubles than two-parent households. African-American and Hispanic households were more prone to food insecurity, as were households in suburbs and outlying rural areas.

Food insecure households having advantages

According to the Department of Agriculture, food insecure households typically had some help in the home. Federal assistance was seen often. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Infants, Women and Kids (WIC), and the National schooling Lunch program were all programs found in these households. Typically at least one of these programs was getting used. The first Supplemental Nutrition Help Program saw an 18.7 % increase in benefits granted last year, while the lunch program (5.4 percent) and WIC (5.8 percent) also showed significant gains.

Time for serious help needed

As the Obama administration is looking at ways to get the federal deficit to go down, the Department of Agriculture is emphasizing the importance of all of these federal programs through these accounts. Cable News Network was able to talk to USDA Undersecretary for Food, Nutrition and consumer Services Kevin Concannon. He said thatthe well-being of American families needs to be considered here. There are many against the programs though. These people would suggest that there have to be more restrictions on the use of these benefits.

Punishment for Ross’ most recent criminal offense

A $100,000 bond is what Ross is being held on right now although a $5,000 bond was asked for by her court-appointed attorney. As much as five years in prison could be exactly what the sentence is for each of the 2 charges of practicing medicine without a license for Ross.

Leonid meteor shower 2010 - when to view, where you can glance

The Leonid meteor shower occurs each November and this year it gets to its highest frequency today and tomorrow. The best time to catch the Leonid meteor shower in the United States can be a couple of hrs before dawn on Thurs., November 18. If you are able to get up very early for the maximum of the Leonids, you’ll see up to 12 meteors per hour for about 2 hrs before dawn. The Leonid meteors lighting up the sky are really little dust particles left in the wake of Comet Tempel-Tuttle that vaporize right after striking the atmosphere at astronomical speed.

Leonids place and time

The Comet Tempel-Tuttle's trail of debris is something the earth is beginning to hit using the Leonid meteor shower 2010 hitting right before daybreak. You might like to glance around 3 a.m. That is when the sky is the darkest right after the moon has set. Try to find the constellation Leo in the southeast. The "radiant" is exactly what we call this point in the sky. Since it looks like the meteors are going out of the sky like water from a shower head, it was given this name.

Information on shooting stars

The Leonid meteor shower 2010 will take place due to comet debris rotating around the sun. It will go within the opposite direction of the Earth around the sun. They hit the atmosphere like a head-on highway collision at really high speeds–about forty-five miles per second. A rifle bullet is slow by comparison at a velocity of about 1,000 meters per second. Most of the meteors are about the size of a grain of sand. You will find bright streaks in the sky that stay a moment when the particles are vaporizing.

The conclusion of the planet

The frequency of the Leonids is proceeding being pretty low with a dozen per hour this year, possibly even though it is one of the better annual meteor showers. From 1999-2002 the Leonids lit up at about 1,000 per hour. The atmosphere had about 10,000 per hour vaporizing in 1996. In 1833, before individuals comprehended what meteors are, the Leonids fell like cosmic rain. Many thought the world was coming to an end as they would get woken up by the sky getting so bright with shooting stars.

Resort blast wipes out 7 at Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Breakfast turned into a nightmare in Playa del Carmen, Mexico when a resort blast killed seven people. The explosion occurred under the restaurant of the resort, and formed a large crater. Swamp gas building up under the resort is suspected as the reason for the hotel explosion, according to Mexican officials.

Blast at the Grand Riviera Princess

Five Canadian tourists and two Mexican resort employees were killed in the Grand Riviera Princess hotel explosion in Playa del Carmen. 18 guests within the resort were injured 50 miles south of Cancun on Mexico's Caribbean coast by the blast. The room had 676 rooms in it. At the hotel restaurant, there had been an explosion that caused metal, glass and pavement to hurtle 50 yards in any direction right after many had just sat down for breakfast. Eight of probably the most seriously injured are Canadians. Two are in critical condition. Ten others, including two U.S. citizens, and eight Mexican employees suffered less serious injuries.

What the resort explosion revealed happening

The floor of the restaurant in the Grand Riviera Princess hotel had been sent through the ceiling by the power of the blast, according to Francisco Alor, the attorney general of Mexico’s state of Quintana Roo, in an interview with CBC News. A hotel guest told CBC News the blast sucked the air out of the building, then forced it back in, blowing people off their feet and into walls. There were severe injuries due to flying glass. The guests in the resort helped out by making deck chairs into stretchers. The victims were carried out this way.

Predicted that swamp gas had been involved

The Grand Riviera Princess blast was investigated which ended up showing that there might have been natural gas under the resort lobby floor which may have caught fire. Gas lines wouldn't be the trigger since there aren't any nearby. Of course, a swamp near the beach was where the concrete slab had been put where the resort was built. It’s alleged that the gas came from plant matter underground that had been decomposing. This is exactly what authorities suggest. A separate investigation has been launched to determine whether illegal shortcuts had been taken in the construction of the Playa del Carmen resort.

U.S. USPS experienced $8.5 billion decline last year

Letter writing has given way to the cheaper, more immediate varieties of electronic communication like e-mail, text, IM and social networks. Combine this with the boom in the commercial package service industry, and the financial implications for the United States Postal service are grim, indeed. According to MSNBC, the USPS lost $8.5 billion in 2009 ($4.7 billion more than in 2008), despite cutting more than 100,000 jobs and reducing service.

Nobody uses the Postal Service when they can use the web

At first the U.S. Postal Service estimates were between $6 billion and $7 billion. This was for 2009. The economic recession has been bad since business mail has been cut down. Also, more and more people rely on electronic communication meaning there isn't as much mail sent or received. This has brought marketing down. There is less money for the Postal Service this way. Hardly any money is made. The USPS is hoping that a postage rate increase is within the future. It also hopes that dropping Saturday service could happen.
Costs get saved more than other organizations

In a statement, USPS CFO Joe Corbett remarked the U.S. Postal Service managed to cut more than $9 billion, mostly by slashing about 105,000 full-time jobs. That is "more than any organization, anywhere," he said, and USPS will continue to focus on "efficiency.". Yet favorable legislation, regulation and labor contracts must follow if the organization is to continue to exist.

The USPS and its unions are all negotiating labor contracts. These negotiations are expected to continue into 2011.

First-class mail being unused

Less people are paying bills through the USPS. Also, people are sending less personal letters and cards as well. There has been much more paperless billing. This has all happened online. In 2010, there had been a 6.6. percent decrease in the amount of first class mail sent. The two years before that it was 8.6 and 4.8 percent. There is obviously a problem considering more than 50 percent of USPS revenue comes from first-class mail.

Paperless billing is great since retailers and creditors will give discounts for it. The USPS will have a problem to face though. Only Congress, read: higher taxes, might be able to help the U.S. Postal Service considering even Netflix has decided to do much less of a movie exchange via mail and more through a streaming service.

Miller files lawsuit and keeps Alaska Senate race dilemma proceeding

Joe Miller has submitted a lawsuit against the Murkowksi campaign. Ballots that vote for a write-in candidate could be confusing if spelling errors are made, and Miller wants to keep the state from interpreting ballots. Miller’s suit comes after election officials had said interpretations would be made where sensible and necessary. The goal in the suit is to ensure no leeway for interpretation, reasonable or otherwise, is allowed to exist. Resource for this article – Drama in Alaska Senate race heats up with lawsuit by Personal Money Store.

Alaska Senate race vote wasn't even counted when a lawsuit was filed

Before the final count within the Alaska Senate race, Joe Miller has already filed for an injunction in Federal court. The race has come down between Miller and incumbent Lisa Murkowski, who has been running as a write-in candidate. USA Today reports the Alaskan election law is what Miller is suing about. Alaska law states the write-in oval needs to be filled in. Also, the name has to be written on the line. The last name of the candidate has to be written. Occasionally it appears differently on the ballot. Write in candidates can have their names displayed. The booth must have these. He is trying to cut any tries to discern voter intent off at the pass.

Famous court case brought up

Bush v. Gore is a Supreme Court case Miller talks about. This is the case that the 2000 election decided. Joe Miller, the Tea Party darling with the Sarah Palin endorsement, is alleging the law in Alaska mandates names of candidates be spelled correctly. Alaskan officials say that if there is a clear intention of who had been being voted for, the interpretation is allowed, as outlined by the Washington Post.

It's all being counted

The final vote count within the Alaska Senate race is one of the closest viewed races within the 2010 election results. If Murkowksi wins, Sarah Palin's home state might be upset with all the Tea Party people in it. She will also make history on being a write-in candidate. There hasn't been another one since Strom Thurmond in 1954.

FL schools locked down - Government structures also endangered

Broward County, the second-largest county in FL, has locked down schools because of a threat of a shooting. At least 17 schools were locked down. As a whole, Broward County is the largest school district within the area. The threat that was e-mailed into the radio station also mentioned government structures.

Broward County, Florida, schools locked down

The school lockdown in Florida had to start someplace. The Fort Lauderdale suburb of Pembroke Pines can have this attributed to them. The lockdown was then expanded to include all 17 schools and 260,000 students in the school district. The schools are "operating as normal as possible." This is what Nadine Drew, the school spokesman, said. Nobody is allowed to go in or out of the school. Going in or out of classrooms is also something that happens with a lockdown. Until police clear the buildings, the lockdown will stay in effect.

Broward County, Florida gets a threat

A woman called a radio station saying her husband had been "going to a school to start a shooting" which is why the schools were shut down. An e-mail had been also sent to the station, which had been forwarded on to authorities in Broward County claimed that “something big had been going to happen” around government buildings. Neither the man or the woman have been identified. They are still looking. The threat isn't serious anymore. It has not been considered so anyway.

School lockdown facts

"Locking down" a school is quite new. Many do not know what it is. Now "lockdown drills" are common. These happen within the U.S. and Canada. Most commonly, a lockdown confines teachers and students to their classrooms. This will restrict people from moving. Everyone will be safe this way. The Broward County school district has about 300 schools and has been holding lockdown drills for the last few years.

Why credit cards aren't a target

Courtroom orders Ugandan paper to stop outing homosexuals

The African nation of Uganda has presumably had a law on the books for some time that makes homosexuality illegal, but it took a 2009 speaking engagement by conservative Christian Evangelical Scott Lively of Abiding Truth Ministries to stir the hornet’s nest into a furious hive of hatred. After Lively stirred the pot, Uganda is taking one more look at the penalty by law. Life in jail or death for being gay in Uganda may become the lawful prescription. Based on the world documentary service Vanguard, Lively’s talk on "the gay agenda" lit the powder keg.

Courts say that outing gays in the press can't take place

Outing homosexuals within the Ugandan Rolling Stones, BBC News accounts, a Ugandan court rules is not okay. The United States of America Rolling Stone has no connection to it though. The publication had been working on publishing names and photos of the gays. These were just states though. Those outed by Rolling Stone Uganda begun getting attacked publicly. This is why the gay rights group Sexual Minorities Uganda asked the practice be stopped. One article had a terrible title. The title "Hang them" was extremely offensive. Stopping the Rolling Stone outing practice had been what the judge who heard the case thought ought to occur. The title of the Uganda magazine is something the American Rolling Stone magazine doesn't appreciate. This is why the publisher is attempting to get the one in Uganda to have a name change.

Alan Colmes spoke with Lively who said it was not alright to kill homosexuals

Scott Lively was on the Colmes radio show excerpted on Queerty where he said that Uganda is "a Christian country" and also said he does not approve of killing or imprisoning homosexuals. Bestiality and pedophilia are the very same as homosexuality, Lively states. This is his opinion on it all. Things such as pedophilia being "mortal sins" are still being discussed though. Apparently the Hebrews only got hot under the collar over it if the perpetrator failed to put a ring on it, metaphorically speaking.

Obama India trip - Is $200 million a day really necessary?

India and various nearby nations can be getting a visit from President Obama. This Obama India journey will take about four days. This journey is mainly for relationship building. The trip has been highly anticipated and talked about, though it doesn’t have any major goals. Is this trip worth the reported $200 million cost is a question the majority are asking. Source of article – Obama India trip – Is $200 million a day really needed? by Personal Money Store.

Costs over-reported on India trip for Obama

One Indian news outlet reported the cost of the Obama India trip at $200 million per day. The $200 million per day estimate is probably just a little too high although the White House won't say what the expense of the journey was. White House spokesman Tommy Vietor addressed this India trip cost rumor:

“Due to security concerns, we are unable to outline details associated with security procedures and costs, but it is safe to say these numbers are wildly inflated.”

Obama India journey prepared to interactions could possibly be built

Creating and strengthening relationships between the two nations was the reason why Obama made his four-day journey to India. India trades about $40 billion per year with the United States, and also the countries also have a civil nuclear cooperation agreement. India’s foreign minister, Nirupama Rao, addressed Obama’s India trip by saying “We are not at a stage in our partnership possibly for one more big bang, but certainly there could be optimistic outcomes.”

A president journeying costs a lot

The journey Obama made to India surely expense cash. Several million a day had to be paid for it. Whenever presidents travel, they take along a large portion of the White House with them. Continuing working is a major concern when a president goes on a journey. Also, if there were any major concerns, it would need to be discussed. Media has to pay themselves for trips like this, from time to time with a no no faxing payday loans, when the president has most of the expenses going towards security. In short, the Obama India trip isn’t really going to cost United States taxpayers any more or less than a usual international trip for the president.

Study on fish-oil isn't able to find advantage for Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s disease treatments using omega-3 supplements were proven ineffective in a study released Tuesday. Outcomes of clinical trials were released showing that omega-3 fatty acid supplements did not slow the mental deterioration of Alzheimer’s. Omega-3 fish-oil has been touted as a treatment for Alzheimer's because individuals with a diet rich in fish demonstrate a lesser tendency to suffer from dementia. Resource for this article – Omega-3 fish oil fails to slow Alzheimer’s, study says by Personal Money Store.

Results from Omega-3 supplements are not enough

Placebo and Omega-3 fish oil have the exact same impact. This is what the Journal of the American Medical Association research suggests. Subjects that had mild to reasonable Alzheimer's disease were given a daily dose of either omega-3 fatty acid supplements or a placebo in a double-blind experiment. There were 18 months of patients being monitored. At the end of the study period scientists assessed the subjects’ cognitive ability and conducted MRI scans of their brains. The brain volume and cognitive ability in both groups stayed the very same.

Nevertheless considering connection with Alzheimer's and fish oil

Omega-3 fatty acids became a popular supplement for brain health after studies showing people from cultures with a diet rich in fish tend to suffer Alzheimer’s disease at a lower rate. Though the omega-3 study disproves that notion, it didn’t set out to prove whether fish oil may benefit brain health at a younger age. Symptoms of dementia don't just show up one day with the disease. The disease is usually there a long time before hand. The dementia may be easier to avoid if taking Omega-3 years before Alzheimer's hits.

Experts should be cautious with proceeding

Alzheimer’s therapies aren't proven to work at all. This is what a group of experts on cognitive development and decline on the National Institutes of Health said. Programs like memory training, not eating saturated fats, eating more fruits and vegetables and rigorous exercise have no scientific facts behind them. These programs do not have any evidence, which means they might still work. The omega-3 fish-oil theory had been proved wrong though with Alzheimer's disease meaning it is totally ineffective.

UK Weight Watchers will expose brand new ProPoints system

Weight Watchers participants in the United Kingdom, and soon in the United States, may have a brand new numerical program to keep track of their food intake. The new “ProPoints” program is intended to be more in line with nutritional knowledge. The yet-to-be-released United States of America program will likely differ from the ProPoints U.K. program.

ProPoints system with Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers is changing things within the United Kingdom. A brand new point-counting program had been started. The "point value" of food is evaluated all over again with ProPoints. Vegetables and fruits will, for the most part, be zero-point foods. Alcohol and fast food “treats” will also be worked to the points system. Protein, carbs, fiber and fat, instead of just calories, can be considered within the brand new program.

Precisely how Weight Watchers points function

Points are one of the biggest parts of the "Momentum." This is all part of Weight Watchers. Each person on the Weight Watchers program is allotted a certain number of “points” for the food that they eat each day. Points are calculated with any food while Weight Watchers food has points pre-calculated. Those on the diet will watch what they eat. They limit the amount coming in with the points.

Engaging in business with weight loss

Weight watchers isn't the only company within the weight loss industry. You will find dozens more. All told, the industry is worth billions of dollars. Most money is spent because everyone wants an easy answer to their weight problems. Weight Watchers, also as just about each and every diet plan, encourages one simple thing — eating healthy and working off more calorie consumption than you eat. It is so hard to maintain limiting what you eat which is why "rebound" weight is being gained. Weight loss could be maintained much better if you have a healthy lifestyle you live. Something different works for every person, however within the end it’s whichever keeps you eating right — be it a new points system or switching to all whole grain foods.

Election results may not be a cause to cheer

There were surprises and complete non-surprises in the 2010 election outcomes. The House of Representatives, for instance, is now thoroughly shot through with Republicans. There are a few fewer Democrats within the Senate, but they are still the majority. Tea Party candidates garnered mixed results. Nevertheless, there is now a significant danger. Congress may be locked up by partisan lines.

Might turn out to be bad to have election outcomes

If 2010 election voting results are being reported accurately, then Republicans will be representing most of the House of Representatives. Neither party is being very cooperative now the Republicans may have some power. Some people call it standing on principle, which is billed as a good quality for officials, however it is a negative quality in a 4-year-old. As a result of either party being unwilling to work with the other side, there’s a possibility for deadlock in congress. That may be thought of as a good thing, however it’s not. It is really something that should not occur. Sarah Palin has been bashing individuals for being realistic, which does not exactly do credit to the individuals we think about authorities.

It is not just here

A hung parliament is what happened earlier this year in Good Britain. When there is a nearly equal number of representatives in legislature, that is a hung parliament. Without a party having majority, nothing will happen. The country cannot progress. The Tea Party says that this can be a good place to be in. Of course, other nations have avoided it like the United Kingdom and other parliamentary governments. Usually something considered bad is bad just about everywhere. Nevertheless, America is designed to be special and will perhaps pull it off.

If it looks like a duck

Though he has seemed willing to ban bacon ought to Obama enjoy a BLT, even John Boehner has realized that is best to “meet within the middle” with the president, based on the Huffington Post. Officials without the ability to compromise aren’t friends to democracy.

Islam had been known as Cat Stevens before. Not to be outdone, Colbert brought Ozzy Osbourne out to play “Crazy Train,” and the number finished with the OR! 17;Jays singing “Love Train.”.

What the press has to say

A lot of the rally was done to take shots at the media. Kareem Abdul Jabbar and R2D2 made appearance through the show with the musical numbers. Between those, they made fun of Glenn Beck and Keith Olbermann who were shown in clips. Olbermann, according to Politico, posted on Twitter that Stewart had “jumped the shark.”. Similar commentators were largely dismissive of the rally. The estimated Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart rally presence had been more than 200,000.

Abrupt end

Near the end of the rally, Comedy Central abruptly pulled coverage of the rally and broadcast the Simon Pegg film “Hot Fuzz,” which Pegg apologized for on Twitter, maintaining he had nothing to do with it.
